About Dan

Dan grew up on a family farm in central Illinois and earned degrees from Wheaton College (IL), the University of Wyoming, and Santa Clara University (CA). He’s lived in five states and visited all 50, plus more than 60 countries. Dan’s 40-year professional career (he seems to favor round numbers!) was split between roles as a Geologist and a Global Decision Consultant. He and his wife, Jody, have two children and two granddaughters.

Dan is passionate about Christian spiritual formation—not merely as a theological concept, but as a lifelong journey nurtured and experienced in the crucible of daily life. He did not set out to write a book; rather, he sensed God’s prompting to document the experiences and insights shaping his formation so they could take deeper root in his life. With encouragement from early readers, and through God’s grace, Dan shaped his personal notes and experiences into this guidebook for all seeking deeper life in Christ.
